RIVER CITY WRITERS SERIES Celebrates 30th Anniversary

The River City Writers Series at the University of Memphis is thrilled to announce it's spectacular fall 2007 line-up: With a memoirist and reporter, the author of a book just released as a blockbuster movie, and a Pulitzer Prize winning poet, you won't want to miss any of these events. Two of these readings will be held off campus and all will feature receptions with beverages and snacks before each event. As always, River City Writers Series events are free and open to the public. Our author line-up this year:


Joyce Maynard is the best-selling author of the memoir At Home in the World and four novels. She has been a reporter for the New York Times, a magazine journalist, a syndicated columnist, and an NPR commentator.

Charles Baxter
is the author of A Feast of Love, a just-released major motion picture starring Morgan Freeman and Greg Kinnear. He is the author of four collections of short stories, three collections of poems, four novels and a collection of essays on fiction, and more.

C. K. Williams won a Pulitzer Prize for his book of poems Repair. He is one of the nation's leading poets and winner of innumerable awards, including a National Book Award, a National Book Critics Circle Award and the Pushcart Prize. Williams has ten collections of poetry to his credit as well as a memoir and several works of translation.
