The Orpheum Theater Is Looking For Artists!

Two fabulous opportunities are coming up for local artists.

The first is a contest for sculptors: We are looking for a statuette design for the Orpheus Award, which will be awarded to individuals for outstanding achievement in several areas of the Theatre.

The statue should be 10-12 inches high and substantial in weight, and it should depict Orpheus with his lyre. The presentation may be as literal or as abstract as the artist wishes to create. Sketches or templates are accepted, and we hope to have all submissions in by April 1.

The creator of the design that is selected will be awarded $500 initially and another $500 if he/she oversees the production of the award.

Also, keep in mind that our annual Art Auction is only a few months away! If you are interested in submitting, keep an eye out for mailings and advertisements in the next few weeks.
